17:43, Monday, 5 October 2009

The final twelve contestants in the X Factor competition have been decided.

This weekend the judges whittled the wannabes down- in glamorous locations like Morocco, Italy and Dubai.

The remaining dozen will now compete in the live ITV show watched by Simon, Dannii, Louis, Cheryl and of course millions of us at home.

They are:

GROUPS

John and Edward

Irish twins who have managed to annoy Simon Cowell and many viewers at home over the past few weeks. The papers say they are 40/1 outsiders to win the competition.

Miss Frank

This girl group were all competing in the solo group until the judges suggested they form a band. Member Graziella busts out a mean Spanish rap.

Kandy Rain

Four ex-strippers who hope to be the UK’s answer to Pussycat Dolls with their similar PVC outfits.

OVER 25s

Jamie Archer

Gravel-voiced rock singer with a huge afro. Prefers to sing rock tracks and could struggle with other styles.

Danyl Johnson

Smiling music teacher who impressed the judges with his first audition by playing up to the huge crowd. He’s the bookies favourite to win the X Factor with odds of 3/1.

Olly Murs

Essex boy who is another hot tip to take the X crow. He’s been compared to Justin Timberlake but his look reminds MTV of Daniel Merriweather.

GIRLS

Rachel Adedeji

Stunning Londoner who looks a lot like Rihanna. According to reports she is Alexandra Burke’s favourite left in the competition.

Lucie Jones

Youngster who is another of the favourites to win. She wowed Simon, Louis, Dannii and Cheryl by belting out Whitney’s I Will Always Love You,

Stacey Soloman

Gorgeous single mum from Essex who has won over the judges with her down to earth humour and soulful singing.

BOYS

Lloyd Daniels

16 year old who will be a favourite of young female viewers but may struggle under the pressure of live shows.

Rikki Loney

Cheeky Scottish lad with a strangely shaped eyebrow. He’s apparently 20/1 to win the programme.

Joseph McElderry

Cheryl has a soft spot for this teenager because he is a fellow Geordie. He’s been nicknamed the ‘South Shields stud’ and will also pick up the girl’s votes.
