Joe McElderry has won the X Factor 2009 beating Olly Murs to the title and the massive recording contract.
 
The 18 year old got 61% of the final vote on Sunday after singing Don’t Stop Believin’ and his version of single The Climb.
 
That track- originally recorded by Miley Cyrus- is on sale to download today and is almost certain to hit number one for Christmas.
 
It’s a second winner for judge Cheryl Cole- who also mentored Alexandra Burke.
 
According to reports Simon Cowell will now take Joe to Hollywood to sign TV and movie deals.
 
It’s claimed the record exec wants the Geordie to be a British Zac Efron.
