The X Factor 'Needs' Cheryl Cole

Fellow judge Louis Walsh claims Chezza is the show's 'biggest star'...

Cheryl Cole is allegedly the biggest star of The X Factor, according to fellow panelist, Louis Walsh.

The Irish music mogul has claimed that despite Chezza receiving a public backlashing for not choosing between her acts, Treyc Cohen and Katie Waissel on last Sunday's result show, the XF "needs" Cole as a judge.

Despite the Girls Aloud star and Louis' constant bickering on the programme, Walsh has nothing but praise for Cheryl, confessing her thinks she is the "biggest character" on the talent show.

Louis revealed to Star magazine: "I used to think it was Dannii (Minogue), but now it may be Cheryl! She didn't like it when I said the show wasn't all about her! But I was speaking my mind at the time."

"I do like Cheryl, though - The X Factor needs her. When the cameras are turned off, she's still a real sweetie. It's not all an act with her."

The Boyzone manager also added that Simon Cowell may have saved Cheryl's contestant Katie over Aiden Grimshaw on Sunday's results show, but SiCo would not do the same thing if fellow contestant, Cher Lloyd, was against Waissel in the sing-off.

Walsh claimed: ''I think he's more into Cher, to be honest, and he sees her as the girl who delivers the ratings."

"I wouldn't be surprised if Simon cast the vote that got Katie axed in the end – he's ruthless like that. Just when you think he's on your side, he can make a decision out of left file."

Louis comments come as XF favourite, Matt Cardle, slammed Cowell for picking Katie over Aiden, blasting Simon for only saving her to get the show 'more attention.'
