7 Things We Loved About Niall Horan's Flicker Sessions In London

Niall Horan performed his upcoming debut album for fans at Shepherd's Bush Empire last night (31st August 2017) and it was magical...

Last night marked the second show of Niall Horan's Flicker Sessions Tour and the only London show at O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire.

Here are 7 things we loved about the whole night…

How keen he is to showcase other Irish talent

Niall's supporting band, Picture This, are also Irish and the biggest band in Ireland at the moment. Niall explained that he wanted to 'showcase the talent coming out of Ireland at the moment' and that he is 'so happy to be a part of it' CUTE or what?! Picture This are doing their own show in Shepherd's Bush empire on 1st November and we couldn’t recommend them more.

How loud the crowd was when he sang 'This Town'

Niall’s Flicker Sessions was predominantly unknown songs from Niall's upcoming album, so we weren't surprised at how much the crowd erupted when he sang his first solo record ‘This Town’ three songs in.

Niall said he knows it's a different way of doing things, performing an album that no one knows the words to yet, but he wants people to get a feel of what it's like before it is released - we get you bae, and we absolutely LOVED it!

How modest he is

Niall explained how he had been writing his new album for a year and a half (since last March) and that the long hours are all worth while now that he is able to perform them to us all - he was genuinely amazed that the Flicker Sessions Tour sold out in minutes (Awwww!)

Finding out that the song ‘Flicker’ is the most important song he's ever written

It's bound to be pretty important seeing as it's the album name but bae went on to explain that writing ‘Flicker’ was the most poetic and poignant moment of the album writing process. He said he had been struggling to write for a while and as he was sat down at home he randomly started recording a voice note, and by the next day the song was finished. It is a beautiful song AND Niall says he'll never get bored of playing it!

We heard his next single 'Too Much To Ask' and it is an absolute banger

Niall just wants us to 'get to know it before it hits the radio' - that is definitely not too much to ask.

When he came back without his band for the first song of the encore

Not only was he alone on stage looking beautiful as ever, he went back to his roots and sang ‘Fool's Gold’ from One Direction’s 2014 album FOUR. We got all of the feels and shed a little tear for the good old days!

When he got rid of the guitar and showed us his moves

Don't get us wrong we are totally in awe of his strumming skills but our favourite moment of the show was when he got rid of the guitar and got the dance moves out for ‘Slow Hands’.

We had an epic night and loved being a part of him showcasing his new material! Niall is clearly in his element now that he is playing his own music and we are happy AF for him.
