7 Things We Loved About Niall Horan’s Flicker World Tour London Show

Niall performed at the O2 Academy Brixton last night (22nd March) and it was everything we hoped for and more...

Niall’s Flicker World Tour is well underway, having kicked off 2 weeks ago in his home country (Ireland), last night he graced the stage for us London folk.

Here are 7 things we loved about the show...

1. The support act

Julia Michaels was absolutely incredible and the crowd went mad for her debut single ‘Issues’. It’s safe to say she got everyone sufficiently warmed up.

2. Being treated to not one, but TWO One Direction songs

He took the OG’s back to the good old days and sang a couple of 1D songs. The first was ‘Fool’s Gold’ from the album Four and it felt incredibly personal being the only song Niall was alone on stage for. The other was ‘Drag Me Down’ from their final album Made in the A.M. It was the perfect choice for the fans as he sang the words ‘all my life, you stood by me, when no one else was every behind me’ it felt like he truly meant it! It definitely made us Directioners feel a little bit emosh, we’re still praying for the end to that hiatus, like, really soon.

3. When he took his jacket off and everyone got a little bit flustered

Niall was being all cute and saying how he was ‘so excited to play Brixton Academy and I hope to give you all value for your money’ and right on cue he slipped out of his jacket and the audience all went a little bit crazy. He LOL’d at everyone and explained that he’s just ‘a little bit sweaty!’

4. His cover of ‘Crying In The Club’ by our girl Camila Cabello

We love hearing that celebs are good mates and Niall confirmed that this pair are. His version of ‘Crying In The Club’ was BEAUT and it wasn’t the only cover he surprised us with either; he sang Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Dancing in the Dark’ and told us that he is ‘the real boss’.

5. When he asked the whole crowd to put their phones away

Niall told us that ‘Flicker’ is his ‘personal favourite song of this album and a song that means a hell of a lot to me and I hope that I never ever get bored of singing it’ and because it is his fave tune he went on to make a brave request and said ‘I would like us to all do something, something that very rarely happens these days, if everyone could stick their phones in their pockets for the next three and a half minutes and we can all be in this lovely moment together’, we totally agree that this should happen more often.

6. Seeing him play piano for the first time ever

Not only was it the first time we had seen Niall play the piano, but it was a song that no one had heard before. This made us feel extremely special and by the way Niall, you’re a natural! He said that before the tour he hadn’t played the piano in front of a crowd and he regretted not putting this song on the album so instead he thought it would be cool to put it on the set list and treat us with a song we hadn’t heard before! We totes agree with you bae.

7. The amount of times he thrusted the air during ‘Slow Hands’

When he came back for the encore everyone was anticipating ‘Slow Hands’, Niall finally came out from behind the guitar and we can tell you now, the moves did not disappoint. He was giving us all of the hip action with a cheeky grin and as if by magic our night was complete!

Niall still has quite a while to go with the Flicker World tour, finishing in the USA in late September. We feel very lucky to have had the chance to see it, so thanks for a FAB evening Niall, sending you all of the positive vibes for the rest of the tour.
