Niall Horan Says Critics 'Can Go F*** Themselves'
Wilhelmina's newest model gets honest in his new Esquire interview...
Niall Horan is all grown up and, frankly, he's sick of your sh*t.
The One Direction member-turned-solo star got real in a new interview with Esquire magazine, on everything from haters to his boyband days.
The 'Slow Hands' singer recently signed with Wilhelmina Models, a modelling agency with Nicki Minaj on its roster, which is a huge deal for "the worst dressed man on the planet."
“A while ago I was probably the worst dressed man on the planet,” he said about his style evolution. “Obviously some people can pull it off, and some people can’t. I happen to be one of those people that can’t. But I was 16 and 17, so you kind of let yourself get away with that.”
While adolescence could be blamed, he acknowledges that bandmate Harry Styles was always ahead of the fashion curve, putting more effort into his looks in the past, while Niall is catching up now thanks to his newfound country style.
“It’s kind of an extension of me being Irish,” he says of his new style. “A lot of boots. A lot of hats. And all different types of jackets—denim, leather, all different types of materials that I’m trying to get into.”
And we love it!
One Direction were no strangers to (usually unfair and unnecessary) criticism for everything from their style to music, however Niall has learned to look past the BS and pay it no mind.
“Back in the day it used to be that you’d read stuff and be like, ‘Aw, is that what they think of me?’ But the way the world turns is you can do no right, so I’ve just gone past the point of caring."
"Apparently all these people who are writing to you are perfect, so they have every right to say that to you. So they can go f**k themselves.” Yes, Niall!
That's what we like to hear.
