Niall Horan took to the stage in Wembley on Sunday for Radio 1's Teen Awardsto surprise the crowd with his first proper solo performance of This Town, and boy was it was a tear-jerker.

Having kept his appearance a secret right up until the very moment he stepped on stage, when he did finally start singing we all but sobbed into our snacks.

But it's not like he was lonely without his One Direction besties on the stage with him, telling Nick Grimshaw: "How can it feel lonely with 10,000 other people?"

YOU'RE SO RIGHT, NIALL.

But obvs we're not going to say no to a little reunion in the near future. We're aren't total animals.

While it seems Niall was just as excited as us about the whole thing as us, later tweeting: "Great to perform at @bbcr1 teen awards . Good to be back on stage infront of a crowd , nothing better . Thanks for having me radio 1."
