Simon Cowell Has Responded To Stories That He Banned One Direction's Niall Horan From Performing on The x Factor

Reports say that Simon Cowell has banned One Direction star Niall Horan from performing on this year's X Factor after his record label snub

Simon Cowell holding a grudge? That couldn't possibly be a true story could it?

Well, according to reports today, the telly/music/general Plant Earth mogul has snubbed his One Direction protege Niall Horan by banning him from performing his debut solo single This Town on this year's X Factor. Gulp.

Niall's crime was apparently choosing a rival record label over Si's Syco.

The Sun on Sunday 'revealed' that there was basically zero chance that we'd be seeing Niall perform on one of the Sunday night results shows in the near future.

A source said: "Niall hasn’t been invited to sing on any of the remaining live shows, despite having a big release.

"That’s not an oversight from the bookings team, it’s intentional.

"Simon really thought the 1D boys would show loyalty after he mentored them on the show and made them the huge global success they are. Instead they went behind his back.

"He’s not going to do them any favours. He knows artists love performing on the show as there are eight million viewers to promote their songs to."

But Simon has hit back on Twitter, saying that the stories are categorically untrue.

He tweeted: "Loved the show tonight. A long night. Reading some stories.

"To be clear I would never ban anyone from One Direction from appearing on the show."

That clears that up then.
