Exclusive Stream: Nick Brewer ‘Four Miles Further’ EP
Get a first listen of this EP featuring haunting spoken word over big beats
It appears that we have a new urban poet, in the softly spoken but weighty tongued Nick Brewer. This exclusive stream of his new EP ‘Four Miles Further’ is a sonic treat, with honeyed production and yin-yang collaborators in the form of Little Simz, JP Cooper, George The Poet, Max Marshall, and Naomi Scott.
Nick says: “I really enjoyed making this EP. My favourite artists are the ones that are able to depict life in a way that I relate to, and hopefully I've been able to do something similar with Four Miles Further.”
Going on to explain his inspirations, Nick continues: “The idea with the Four Miles Further EP was just to describe where I'm at in life right now. I think people (including myself) can have this misconception that when an artist gets signed they suddenly don't have any struggles or worries anymore. I had this wonderful vision of me driving a brand new Audi, holidaying every month and my bills eternally paid for. In reality however, my Vauxhall is in desperate need of a wash, my bank account is dangerously flirting with the negative, and I just had last night's pasta heated up for breakfast! But all jokes aside, I'm enjoying the journey, and I know I've got a long way to go, I'm only four miles further than the last time you heard from me.”
“It was great to be able to collaborate with artists that I'm a genuine fan of. Being able to just lock myself in the studio with The Confect and make the music that we wanted to was apt of fun.”
Listen first exclusively on MTV UK before ‘Four Miles Further’ is released on Monday 9 June.
