Nicki Minaj allowed fans into her world as MTV followed the rapper through the later stages of her "emotional journey",where she opened up again about her abortion.

The documentary My Time Again hears Nicki reminisce about her high school boyfriend Aaron, who she fell pregnant with at the age of 15and ultimately had a termination.

"My child with Aaron would've have been 16 any minute," Nicki said.

"We made a terrible mistake. We had to pay for it," Minaj says. "I always felt like my destiny was to be accomplished in my career first, and then be a mother."

She takes the audience back to the block she grew up on, where she remembered her dad burning down her and her family's home.

"Me and my brother were at a neighbor's house sleeping over. I remember when I got here, it was a big commotion. I was so scared. I look up and it was all gone," she said.

The chart-topper also opens up about the making of her new album, and how it resulted in being more emotional than she'd expected.

"I didn't intend to make an emotional album. I wrote my life," she says of The Pinkprint. She goes on to share about her time with ex-boyfriend, Safaree: "I was in this long 11-year relationship and was proposed to. I kept telling him, 'let's hold off.'"
