If you were looking forward to seeing Nicki Minaj at Wireless festival on Sunday (July 5) you were probabaly a little disappointed, after the singer somehow missed her entire slot.

Fans were left confused when the chart topperwas a no show due to "travel issues", with headliner David Guetta instead taking to the stage withher 7-8pm slot being filled by a surprisingly upbeat (and just out of hospital) Jessie J.

A message was put out on the big screens, telling the crowd: "Special announcement: we are told that she was due to be speeding down the M1 from Luton Airport as we speak but we have lost contact with her, we are hoping that she will be here soon."

So that Nicki could still make an appearance, Guetta's slot was cut by thirtyminutes after she finally arrived at 9:30pm.

“Due to last minute travel issues Nicki Minaj was unable to perform at her scheduled time of 7pm. However Nicki did join David Guetta on stage for one song and went on to perform a blistering set," a rep said.

Fans were quick to share their views on Twitter, writing:

It is reported that there was in fact a car fire earlier on in the day on the M1, with Highways England stating heavy congestion. So maybe she did have a valid excuse after all?
