Pokémon Boss Reveals Nintendo NX Will Be Handheld Console
This leak on Nintendo's new console is everything.
The next Nintendo console, called NX, has been at the centre of many rumours about being both handheld and an at-home fixed console.
Now the Pokémon CEO has chimed in adding more weight to the rumour that the NX will be a handheld console that docks with your TV at home.
Tsunekazu Ishihara, Pokémon Co.’s CEO, told The Wall Street Journal: “The NX is trying to change the concept of what it means to be a home console device or a handheld device”. He also went on to say that his company would be making games for the new NX console.
The release of the Nintendo NX is still set to be a way off with the company saying it won’t arrive until March 2017. The only other official word on the NX, aside from its name, is that the Wii U game The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be released on it.
Rumours suggest the Nintendo NX will be a portable console like the now-old 3DS but it will dock to the side of the main console at home to also replace the Wii U. It is also thought to use good old fashioned cartridges to load games.
While the Nintendo NX isn’t expected to be released until March 2017, rumours suggest it will be revealed as soon as September this year. Eek!
