Nintendo NX Revealed: Everything We Know About The NEW CONSOLE
It's going to work set up in your living room AND as a portable console.
The Nintendo NX was announced along with a March 2017 release date. Also announced was that Legend of Zelda will be launched next year on both the Wii U and Nintendo NX.
The Nintendo NX is reportedly set to feature detachable controllers that allows it to be portable. It should also work with a TV so it can be used at home. But when out and about, according to games site Eurogamer, the NX will still function as a high-powered handheld console.
The controllers should attach on either side like book ends and be removable allowing the display to be stood up on a tilt stand anywhere. Sounds FANCY.
Another interesting revelation comes in the form of games. Rather than being downloadable the games will reportedly be sold on cartridges, like older Nintendo consoles offered.
Super Mario and Donkey Kong creator Shigeru Miyamoto said back at E3: “In terms of NX, there's an idea that we're working on. That's why we can't share anything at this point, and I don't want to comment on the other companies. If it was just a matter of following advancements in technology, things would be coming out a lot quicker.”
