More Exciting Nintendo Switch Console Details Released

Just when you thought Nintendo had revealed everything there was to know about the Switch console, sources have revealed more details.

The home and mobile console combo will feature a display that can be taken on the move in a tablet style device. Now Ninty sources have agreed that this will feature a 6.2-inch display that tops out at a resolution of 720p with a full capacitive multi-touch screen.

While a multi-capacitive touchscreen might be pretty standard for a smartphone or tablet, it’s a step up for mobile Nintendo gaming. Both the 3DS and Wii U feature resistive touchscreens that rely on pressure and are far less precise than this new model.

The new display should offer a 10-point multitouch display which will mean multi-finger support. This is something that could help to open up the way Nintendo makes its games.

When the display is docked how will that touchscreen functionality work in games? It is thought that the right JoyCon which has an IR blaster will allow for touch-like controls on the screen from a distance away.
While this is still all rumour right now, Nintendo has announced that it will reveal more at a 13 January event where the exact release date and more games will be revealed.
