Nintendo FINALLY Reveals What Ganon’s Real Surname Is!

Exciting.

Nintendo has finally confirmed the surname of Zelda’s Big Bad Ganon.

25 years ago (yeah, really!) the surname was given in Super Nintendo’s A Link to the Past’s game manual as Ganondorf Dragmire, but as the series showcases different incarnations of not only Ganon but Link and Zelda, too, it wasn’t known if that was always the surname, or just the last name of that particular incarnation.

Thanks to a new online guide on the official Zelda website (thanks, Eurogamer), we now know that it’s Ganon’s official surname, across all ages and different variations.

The official site briefly describes him as: “Ganondorf: Once known as the King of Thieves, Ganondorf Dragmire used the power of the Triforce to become the beast, Ganon.”

Hoping to see a surname for Zelda or Link? Yup, us too. Unfortunately, though, Nintendo hasn’t been quite as forthcoming about those secrets. Sad face.

For more about Hyrule and and its inhabitants, head on over to the official Zelda website.

Those of us lucky enough to have a Nintendo Switch have been spending a lot of time exploring the world of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but I don’t think anyone’s done it as epicly as this guy has.

If you've already picked up a Nintendo Switch, here’s 18 games out RIGHT NOW that you'll want to play immediately. Oh, and did you read this student's story of achieving his dreams and working for Nintendo?
