Arctic Monkeys Dominate NME Awards, Harry Styles Named Villain Again!
Arctic Monkeys were the big winners at last night's NME Awards (February 26), while One Direction star Harry Styles was named Villain of the Year for the second consecutive time.
Alex Turner and Co took home five of the eight prizes their were nominated for, including Best British Band, Best Live Act and Best Album for AM.
Turner himself was also crowned Hero of the Year at the bash, held at London's Brixton Academy.
During his speech, the 28-year old frontman poked fun at his controversial Brit Awards rock 'n' roll rant, joking: "I think I used all my best s**t last week so thank you very much."
Lily Allen marked her return to music by scooping the Best Solo Artist gong, with the mum-of-two seeming to disagree with her win.
She stated: "This is kind of dumb cos David Bowie was in the same category and Jake Bugg so this goes to you guys really, not me."
Lily later posed for photos with her award - which had been damaged - as the star held the infamous middle finger of her NME Award in her right hand and pulled an unhappy face.
Allen was also on hand to present Blondie with the Godlike Genius Award, with Debbie Harry and Co closing the ceremony with an eight-song set, including hits Heart Of Glass and One Way Or Another.
Harry also told The Metro that fans can expect more from them at this yea's Glastonbury Festival, confirming: "We just heard today – we’re going to be doing Glastonbury."
Other winners of the night included Disclosure, HAIM, Paul McCartney and hit US TV series, Breaking Bad.
