You Have To Hear Noah Cyrus' (Miley's Sister) Debut Single 'Make Me (Cry)'
It's very good. Check it out HERE.
Noah Cyrus (Miley Cyrus’s actual sister) has just dropped her debut single, featuring Labrinth, and it’s very good. Check it out.
As ‘Make Me (Cry)’ whirs into life via an old movie projector sound effect, Noah sings “I never needed you like I do right now” before Labrinth snaps back with “I never hated you like I do right now.”
If one of the year’s biggest songs, The Chainsmokers’ ‘Closer’, taught us anything, it’s that storytelling from two opposite points of view works very well in pop music. It works again here.
There are a tonne of effects running in Noah’s first foray into the pop world. Water droplets plop. Jarring scratches of electronic noise leap at you from out of nowhere. Then, as we near the 3-minute mark, there are powerful punches of production, glass shatters and the vocals and the lyrics (“Keep on making me scream harder”) are dialled up tenfold.
Basically, this isn’t what you might’ve been expecting. Or, maybe, considering that surname, you were.
It’s fun; it’s out of the ordinary. Give Noah Cyrus – who is just 16-years old, a chance.
