Noel Gallagher Slams Taylor Swift, One Direction And Pop Music In General
The outspoken rockstar has taken no prisoners in his latest tirade of insults…
In an interview with Rolling Stone, the ex-Oasis guitarist who has just released his second solo album, Chasing Yesterday, launched into one of his trademark rants when asked about Swift’s songwriting ability.
“Who says that? Her parents,” the 47-year-old rocker told an interviewer at the magazine, after claiming lots of people admire the Blank Space singer’s talent.
He continued: “You’re f**king lying. She seems like a nice girl, but no one has ever said those words, and you f**king know it.”
One Direction would also be wrong to think they were safe from the witty Mancunian, whose main problem is with acts who don’t write their own songs.
He added: "They're lovely lads. But I've got to say, I have difficulties with people who don't write their own songs, who've got a team of songwriters who work for your record label."
Noel’s scathing words come after his recent dismissal of Indie band, Alt-J, “Alt-J can f*ck right off as far as I’m concerned” and following his admission that he could not live in a world where Ed Sheeran can headline Wembley.
The elder of the Gallagher siblings however did praise the Thinking Out Loud singer for seeing the funny side and said his comments from the context of Oasis not selling out the arena.
"Am I going to take my own life, is that what you mean? No. He's all right, Ed," he said of the flame-haired crooner. "He took it with good humour, which is how it was meant. I was bemoaning the fact that the biggest rock bands in England can't even sell out Wembley, and yet pop music can."
