MTV News Top Story: Noomi Rapace Talks Working With Dogs & Tom Hardy On The Drop
MTV News Top Story: The Drop star Noomi Rapace reveals that the film has a rather surprising standout star…
Never mind Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace or James Gandolfini - apparently the real star of The Drop is the dog.
The film sees the trio star alongside adorable pit bull, Rocco, in a tense thriller revolving around a three way love story (boy meets girl, boy asks girl to help look after a sick, abandoned puppy, boy falls for both of them) that gets complicated by some gangsters, a robbery and an abusive ex-boyfriend.
And it seems Hardy's heartthrob status is in jeopardy as it was the pooch who stole the hearts of everyone on set.
"It was amazing and fun to work with dogs and animals," Rapace told MTV.co.uk. "You never know what's going to happen, you just have to go with whatever he does."
The presence of a puppy (actually five - the role of Rocco was shared by T, J, Pups, Ice and Indigo) also inspired a family feeling on set, revealed the actress.
"It was very much a collaboration, we all lived in Brooklyn, we were all hanging out and walking the dog and talking," she said.
"It felt like a family - a very big, dysfunctional family!"
The Drop hits UK cinemas on Friday 14th November.
