Noomi Rapace Will Play Amy Winehouse In A New Film Biopic
Amy's life is returning to the big screen...
It looks like we're about to see more of Amy Winehouse at the cinema because it's been revealed there's going to be a new film about her life.
Amy was a documentary directed by Asif Kapadia, released earlier this year to an amazing reception. But now Hollywood star Noomi Rapace (Prometheus, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows) will take on the role of the late singer.
We're not quite sure how the Swedish actress will tackle Amy's very distinct London accent, but we're kind of intrigued to see how this'll pan out.
Talks are currently underway with her dad, Mitch, over getting the rights to the soulful singer's tunes, such as 'Back to Black' and 'Rehab'.
The iconic singer died in 2011 and has since had one film made about her - Amy - which surprised many by making over $25 million. This new film version won't be a documentary and will try to dramatise her life through actors.
Even Justin Bieber got emosh when he watched Amy, admitting he cried during it when he appeared recently on Alan Carr: Chatty Man.
We're keeping an eye on this one to see how it works, and hopefully it'll be as well made and respectful as Kapadia's doc.
