Oasis Fans Hoping For Reunion Are Disappointed But 'Definitely Maybe' Gets Re-Release

The critically-acclaimed album celebrates its 20th anniversary this year...

Fans hoping for an Oasis reunion this morning were left sorely disappointed.

A cryptic clue was posted on the band’s social media accounts in the middle of the night with just a time and a date: 26 February, 9am.

The message sent the band’s fans into a frenzy at the thought of a reunion tour being announced.

The band split up after a bust-up between brother Noel Gallagher and Liam Gallagher in 2009, hours before they were due on stage in Paris.

However, today the band's management announced a re-release of Definitely Maybe, Oasis’ debut album, which came out twenty years ago this year.

The record, which well be released in May, will be the first of three Oasis albums to be re-mastered and re-released with previously unheard tracks and rare recordings.

While fans were receptive to the news, their disappointment at the lack of reunion tour was palpable.

“Whilst these will be amazing, I would rather have a ticket for a gig, boys,” one fan wrote on their Facebook page while another added: “There's a new generation that needs to see Oasis live! Get back together!”
