Rihanna Joins The Cast For Ocean’s Eight Remake Alongside Anne Hathaway, Sandra Bullock, And More
These are all the reported additions to Ocean's Eight...
First there was Sandra Bullock, and now we have Rihanna. Warner Bros. has confirmed more details on the cast for the upcoming all-female remake of casino caper Ocean’s Eleven, and they’ve bagged some huge names for the new movie.
As reported by Deadline, aside from the previously announced additions of Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett, deals are close to bring Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling, Awkwafina (the hip-hop moniker of rapper and actress Nora Lum) and some up-and-comer called Rihanna onboard.
Ocean’s Eight will be directed by Gary Ross (The Hunger Games), written by Olivia Milch and produced by Ocean’s Eleven's director Steven Soderbergh (a long-term friend of Ross’s, having shot second unit on The Hunger Games).
Back in June, Helena Bonham Carter told EW how excited she was about the screenplay for Ocean's Eight: “It’s a really good script — but I still don’t know if I’m going to be in it,” Bonham Carter said. “But it’s a great script, and it’s great for women. Just hilarious.”
The film is still casting, so when the full list of names is finally confirmed, we’ll be sure to update you. Who would you like to see cast next for Ocean’s Eight? Let us know over at @MTVUK.
