Olly Murs: 'It's Ridiculous People Question My Credibility'

The Xtra Factor host hits back after scoring the chart double...

Olly Mursbelieves that his recent chart success proves that he is a credible musician.
The X Factor star scored the [uuid=658e7c8d-d0b2-49df-ba47-3221c3240cfa]chart double last weekend[/uuid], topping the UK singles chart with Troublemaker and achieving a No.1 album with his latest disc Right Place Right Time.

Murs has now told The Sun he felt pressure to prove himself as an artist with his new LP, telling the tabloid: "I think the success of the first two albums has catapulted my popularity and so more people are coming to see me live now, which is great, but I think this album is all about credibility.

"I've established myself as a proper artist. And it's ridiculous when anyone questions my credibility - I've had four number one singles and I've also sold over two and a half million albums.
"I shouldn't have to convince people that I'm credible but I'm glad people are now taking me more seriously."
He continued: "I've got a real solid fan base. In the past two to three years people have really grown with me and got to know me and what I do. They've really got to know my personality and they really like my music.
"And I'm no different with my music. I also had to prove myself, which is what I've done."
Earlier this week, Murs also claimed he's[uuid=a002a8b3-ee6b-4b72-819f-72fc9ab694c8] hoping for a nod[/uuid] at The Brit Awards 2013, telling The Daily Star he hopes the panel 'take notice' of his recent achievements.
