Twitter Erupts Over Louis Smith's Olympic 'Beef' With Max Whitlock
Bad loser or Twitter misreading the signs?
It's fair to say the UK has been PWNing the medal haul at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
But while the majority of viewers and athletes have thrilled at the excitement of each day's medal haul, Twitter was agog (you heard us - AGOG) at gymnast Louis Smith's seemingly miffed reaction to his teammate Max Whitlock pipping him to the Gold medal.
Upon hearing Whitlock had bagged the gold, Smith was caught on camera seemingly muttering "that's bulls***" while hugging Alexander Naddour, the American who nabbed bronze.
While Louis and Max shook hands with the other competitors, they seemed noticeably distant from each other. And while they did hug after the medla ceremony (an event that saw Smith very, very teary), Twitter pounced on what they saw as sour grapes.
That said, some were on his side - and Smith even tweeted his own support and congratulations for Whitlock.
We think we can all agree that any medal is better than no medal, so well done everyone.
