US Figure Skater Mirai Nagasu Just Made History At The Olympics And Her Reaction Was Everything
Hi we have a new hero and we're never going to stop obsessing.
Mirai Nagasu is our new hero, and no she isn’t related to the Kardashians, in Taylor Swift’s squad or dating Justin Bieber.
That’s right, we’ve branched out of our bubble in order to celebrate the figure skater who became the first American women to land a triple axel at the Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, on Sunday.

This is the move that made Tonya Harding a household name back in 1991, when she was crowned as the first American women to land it at an international event.
However she failed to land the virtually impossible three and a half rotations that it requires after her 1991 success, making Nagasu’s accomplishment historic.
In fact the 24-year-old’s entire routine was pretty perfect, as she scored 137.53 as well as the personal achievement of being a complete hero and inspiration to, well, everyone.
And she made sure she let everyone know just how much she wanted it with her reaction, as she let out the biggest roar at the end of her routine which yes, made us burst into tears at our desk.
We don’t think we’ll get over how figure skating is even possible what with it looking absolutely terrifying, but we’ll forever be in awe of people who manage to not immediately fall flat on their face on ice, like ourselves.
