Even when your son is a world famous pop star, the last thing you’d expect of an evening is to have hundreds of his fans rummaging around your garden.

Spare a thought then for Liam Payne from One Direction’s dad Geoff.

According to The Sun, a radio competition to win tickets for 1D’s Birmingham gig led to hundreds of fans rooting around in his bushes in the hope of finding the lucky prize.

Geoff said: “I’m much better now that the competition is over. I’ve had people loitering around the house for days on end now. I’m glad someone won it.

“There have been people hiding round corners looking for them.”

Free Radio West Midlands gave out a series of cryptic clues which brought fans to Geoff’s well trimmed lawn, but they have since apologised ‘wholeheartedly’.
