1D's Louis Tomlinson Doncaster Rovers Deal Falls Through

The singer admits he won't be buying the football club after all...

One Direction's Louis Tomlinson has taken to Twitter to reveal that his dream of owning his local football club is over.

Louis, who was hoping to become co-owner of the club, admitted that his attempt to buy Doncaster Rovers had fallen through.

"I'm absolutely gutted the Doncaster Rovers deal is not going ahead. I am desperate for the club to be given the recognition it deserves :(", he tweeted to fans.

The 1D star went on to explain the situation in a series of posts to his followers.

"I was explicitly told that the deal to buy the club was not dependent on the money raised by crowdfunding. Unfortunately I was misled", he added.

"My passion for Doncaster Rovers remains as strong as ever, and I hope that I can still be involved with the club moving forward!

"And to all the Doncaster Rovers fans, I will do all in my power to help the club succeed. I really do love the club!"

Louis went on to show his devotion to the club, sharing the hashtag #roverstillidie and tweeting an unhappy emoji, obviously upset with the deal not going ahead.

The singer also went on to reassure fans that he wasn't aiming to make money out of buying the club.

"For the record, I insisted contractually I would never earn a penny from DRFC. I simply wanted to help the club & community. Still hoping I can".
