One Direction star Zayn Malik saved bandmate Harry Styles from walking head first into pyrotechnics during one of their gigs in the US.

Video footage of the incident has now emerged on YouTube, with Hazza clearly seen walking towards the flames as he rubs his face with a towell, blocking his view.

Malik can then be seen rushing towards his pal, steering him clear from the fire - saving Styles from injury.

The other members of 1D seemed blissfully unaware of the near accident, with Harry also appearing unfazed by the incident and carrying on with the show.

Harry hasn't had much luck on stage recently, with eagle-eyed fans capturing the star[uuid=95cf8729-00c6-4ca3-8f5b-625ee4417dc8] throwing up behind the set[/uuid] during The X Factor group's gig in Pittsburghearlier this month.
