Everything we learned from One Direction on Jonathan Ross

Who knew…

After Made In The AM, their final pre-hiatus album, was released last week, the One Direction boys sat down on the sofa to talk to Jonathan Ross about life, love, and Zayn Malik (obviously). Here’s everything we learned:

They’re all looking for love

Following Liam Payne’s split from Sophia Smith, and Harry being linked with every woman under the sun, naturally Jonathan Ross brought up the specifics of the boys’ love lives.

"What’s happening in your love lives at the moment? Who’s single, who’s mingled, who’s looking for a pringle? You’re all single aren’t you?" He asked.

"We’re all single, yeah."

Perfect may have been about Taylor Swift

Since the single’s release, fans have been speculating whether the boys’ latest hit, Perfect, was actually about Harry Styles’ relationship with Taylor Swift. Posed the question, Harry responded:

"Okay, I didn’t know that was the speculation. I’d say I think everyone writes from personal experience and I think you draw from lots of different things and songs aren’t always necessarily about what people may take them to be about, sometimes they are."

Bandmate, Louis, cleared the air by adding: “The point of that song is often when we do meet people it is quite hectic and it is quite chaotic so it was kind of putting that into a song.”

They’ve forgiven Zayn

After Zayn’s tell all interview with The Fader last week, it was natural the topic of wayward Directioner Malik would come up, and the boys were quick to respond:

“You know, I think we all kind of noticed that he wasn’t thoroughly enjoying it and we were,” Louis says.

“And you know it can be an intense job at times and I think it got a little bit too much for him and he wanted to be in a different place and that’s fair enough and he’s got his own way now so fair dos.”

They’re looking forward to a well-earned break

Five years is a long time in showbiz, especially if you’re the world’s biggest band. On their impending hiatus, the boys gave the most relatable reason for the break that caused heartache around the world.

“We wanted to go on holiday but that’s never going to happen, we’re the least organised people ever,” Liam told Ross.

Harry, Liam, Louis and Niall were quick to add that they were ‘definitely’ reforming once the hiatus is over. What a relief!

We’ll miss you, 1D.
