Former Bodyguard Talks 'Lovely' One Direction Lads
Andy Davies spills the beans on life on tour with 1D...
One Direction's former bodyguard has lifted the lid on life on tour with the world's hottest boyband.
Speaking to the Sunday Mirror, Andy Davies, affectionately called 'Baldy' by the 1D lads, had barely a bad word to say about the band, calling them "polite, kind-hearted and very well-mannered".
Andy, who looked after the boys on their recent US tour, revealed that Niall Horan has a life-size statue of Barack Obama because "that's how much he likes him", while Louis is the "cheeky chappy" of the group.
Liam is apparently the "most sensible" and "businesslike", Zayn "likes to get home at night" and Harry Styles is a "little bit of a loner".
Of the curly-haired heartthrob, Andy said: "He wants to talk but doesn't want to make conversation. You have to do all the talking. He just wants a bit of company. He's always worried about his mum."
And the boys' bodyguard also confirmed that Harry is "a very charming individual".
"All the guys are lovely individually but Harry does have a certain something about him that separates him," he said. "No one ever has a bad word to say about him."
Andy added: "He gets a lot of attention from girls. Harry is a charmer... a smooth operator."
The band's army of female fans can cause problems though - Andy explained that he would often "have to stay on the landing for a couple of hours making sure girls aren't coming up the stairwells, up the fire escapes".
And it's not just the Directioners themselves that will go to extraordinary lengths for a slice of the 1D lads.
Andy revealed that a rich US socialite "offered the boys $1 million to meet her kids".
But despite being "slightly overwhelmed" by their meteoric rise to fame, however, Andy insists One Direction are "just normal lads".
The boys are expected to score their second US No 1 album with Take Me Home.
