Liam Payne Says 1D's Next Album Is "A Bit Oasis-y" And "Chilled"

Liam Payne has been shedding some light on what One Direction’s fifth studio album is going to sound like and Directioners, you might be surprised.
During a chat with Capital FM, the 21-year old heartthrob revealed that 1D’s next LP - their first without member Zayn Malik - will be more “chilled”, comparing their work to Britpop legends, Oasis.
The ‘Midnight Memories’ singer confirmed that recording sessions were “going really well”, before adding: “The new album is a bit Oasis-y. The songs have come out a bit more chilled.”
As well as Liam and Noel Gallagher, Payne went on to admit that 1D are also looking to pal Ed Sheeran for inspiration, especially off the back of the success of his smash hit album, X.
The star explained: “We want this to be quite a long-lasting album that you can listen to anytime, like Ed’s album.”
Liam - who also revealed that 1D will be playing Capital FM’s Summertime Ball for the first time in June - also joked he’s considering a job as a pool cleaner as a side career to being in the boyband.
Speaking to Dave Berry and Lisa Snowdown, Payne poked fun at himself by saying: “I’ve moved out to Surrey now, so I'm just going part-time as a pool cleaner.
“You know, it's something I've wanted to do for a long time. You get to use the net, fish out little leaves from the bottom of the pool [and] you can listen to your iPod while you're working.”
