Liam Payne Gives One Direction A Shout Out As He Announces He's Signed As A Solo Artist With Capitol Records

Liam Payne of One direction fams reveals he has signed an official record deal to do solo stuff on Capitol Records during

With One Direction's big six year anniversary coming up this weekend, Liam Payne has justrevealed some very exciting news about the next chapter of his life.

Nope, he's not about to birth a litter of puppies with popstar girlfriend Cheryl, but instead has just signed a solo record deal with Capitol Records.

While there's been a few hints thatPayno's been working on solo music for a while now (well, that song with Juicy J was a bit of a giveaway, wasn't it), he's now made it official and has revealed plans to try the solo artist thing for reals during 1D's ongoing hiatus.

Taking to the internet to reveal the big news, he also has a few cute words about 1D that are about to make your heart go melty like a chocolate biscuit that's been left out in the sun.

"Happy to have signed to @CapitolUK. They have an amazing history of artists, I hope I can follow in their footsteps," he said. "One direction will always be my home and family but I'm very excited to see what this chapter brings."

Told you it would end you.

If you didn't know, Capitol is home of some seriously major artists includingThe Beatles, The Beach Boys, Katy Perry, Sam Smith and, of course, Liam's old mates 5SOS. Naughty Boy is also on the label, but maybe the less said about that, the better.

The label is alsopart of the Sony familyso Liam will still be sticking close to his Syco roots, which is nice.

Having also teased an image from his shiny new website, we've also got a few questions about what this news means:

1. Does this news mean the first single is coming soon?

2. HOWSOON?

3. Does this mean it's now a smidge more likely that one day in the future we might actuallyget a Liam Payne and Zayn Malik collab? Because honestly that is all we have ever wanted and then some.

4. Failing that maybe a collab with Silento? Just 'cos he's also on Capitol and we'd quite like to see Payno do a nae nae.

Either way, let us know what you think of this newswith a tweet to @MTVUK. Oh go on, you know you want to.
