Louis Walsh Says The End Of One Direction Is Near But We Don't Want To Believe It
Louis Walsh has decided to share his thoughts on the future of One Direction, because clutching at straws.
Oh sorry, you think that's it? No, he also talked about Harry Styles starting his own solo career. ENOUGH LOUIS.
Chatting to Music Week, Louis thought he'd crush a few dreams as he gave his two cents on the whole 'five album deal' situation we know all too well about.
“I think there’s one more album and that’s it,” said Walsh about One Direction. “They’ve had an amazing, amazing career – who would have thought? Not me, ever. One Direction had one thing going for them and that was Simon [Cowell].
Adding: "Simon made it all happen. Nobody ever gives him the credit for what he does, but he and Sony made it happen. He put them together – with my help, and with Nicole [Scherzinger], because I always wanted to do a boyband. But it was afterwards he got to work. I know Syco’s operation and when they’re on it, there’s nobody better."
“They’ve had an amazing run. I don’t know who’s going to be a [solo] star. If I was betting on anybody, I’d put my money on Harry [Styles], because he’s got the ambition. Ambition and work ethic, to me they’re as important as talent. The best singers in the world are backing singers, but they’re not stars.”
Not stars? NOT STARS? We don't even know where to begin.
But wait! Liam Payne has since spoken about the speculation as to whether all this talk of themgoing their separate ways after the fifth album is true:
"That is partially true, yeah, we are meant to do five albums. But that's just business contract stuff, you know what I mean?
"We do need a little bit of a break. I'm not gonna go around lying to people but we have been on the road for five years so I don't think people can be mad at us for that reason. I like the songwriting side of things, but I noticed that last time I said this on the radio everything has just gone bananas like 'oh, One Direction are taking a break.'
"Yeah, we're probably gonna take a little bit of a break but I think that we just to be expected really."
A break we can deal with (just), a split we cannot.
