One Direction Score Best-Selling Album Of 2013
Boy band crushes competition despite only releasing LP in November...
One Directionhave notched up the UK's biggest selling album of 2013 with their third long player Midnight Memories.
The boys trumped competition from Emeli Sande's Our Version Of Events - which was last year's biggest-selling album - despite not bringing theirs out until the end of last month.
However it was a quiet year for album sales, with no artist album clocking up more than 1 million sales for the first time since the 1980s.
The only LP to breach the million mark was Now That's What I Call Music 86 - with 1.2 million sales.
1D's Liam Payne said: "This tops an amazing year for us. We're so excited."
The lads are reported to be at the start of a three-month lay off before their next tour rehearsals.
