One Direction's Liam Payne Slams Documentary
As fans set Twitter trending in objection to Channel 4 show...
One Directionstar Liam Payne has hit out at a Channel 4 documentary on the group's fans.
The 19-year-old star took to Twitter to share his feelings on Crazy About One Direction - describing the contents as "bulls**t".
He wrote: "Not really sure what's going on right now I just hope everyone's ok xxx. Hearing some horrible things... Really hope this isn't true.
"Just so all of you know we love you guys and we know how dedicated you are and tbh we can't believe it that you gus spend all you time on us.
"We couldn't give a f**k what any documentary says there dramatised for entertainment and full of bulls**t anyway we all know how hard you work for us and see it everyday at our shows, Let's all take a step back and think about what we/you have all achieved. You should be proud."
The documentary studied the more disturbing elements of the band's fanbase; including death threats, desperate attempts to meet the fivesome and "shipping" - which involves imagining relationships between the boys.
Many fans took to Twitter to object to the documentary and there were even online (and unconfirmed) rumours of fans taking their own lives in response to the show.
Fans got #THISISNOTUS trending worldwide after the show - a play on the title of the band's forthcoming movie This Is Us.
One Direction recently cleaned up at the Teen Choice Awards.
