Tomlinson was then apparently given three points on his driving licence and could also face an £80 fine.
A source explained to the tabloid that Louis will have to be more careful from now on as he only passed his test two years ago - meaning another three points for a motoring offence would see his licence revoked.
The insider stated: "Louis told friends he's learnt his lesson and will be extra careful from now on.
"His girlfriend Eleanor Calder is at uni in Manchester and he drives up to see her so he doesn't want a ban."
The news comes after Tomlinson's bandmate Niall Horan was left 'devastated' after learning that his friend Quentin Reilly was killed in a car crash on Saturday (18th August).
The Sun claims that two more of Niall's pals from his hometown Mullingar, Co Westmeath were also involved in the smash.
Horan later tweeted: "Hope the lads make a full recovery, also Quentin will be missed. Thoughts with the Reilly family at this time.”
