One Direction heartthrob Zayn Malik has quit Twitter after suffering abuse on the social-networking site.
According to US celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, the 19-year old star deleted his account on Tuesday (21st August) - with Malik encouraging his true fans to contact him via the official 1D Twitter page instead.
In his last post, Zayn wrote: "The reason I don't tweet as much as i use to, is because I'm sick of all the useless opinions and hate that i get daily goodbye twitter."
Before finally removing his page, he added: "My fans that have something nice to say can tweet me on the one direction account. :) x"
It is currently unknown which comments caused Zayn to leave Twitter, with Hilton suggesting that the One Thing singer quit after being targeted about rumours claiming that he had cheated on girlfriend, Little Mix star Perrie Edwards.
Perez has since posted a video of Malik apparently hitting on another girl, after being filmed through a hotel room peephole - with neither Zayn or his supposed lady friend in shot.
According to Hilton, The X Factor hunk is heard telling the unidentified girl to "come back in half an hour", after his bodyguard supposedly requested that she returned to her own room.
He also claims that Zayn 'yelled' at his security, before also asking the girl how old she was.
Malik is yet to comment on the accusations, which come just days after he introduced Perrie to his family as they celebrated Eid.
A picture of the pair at Zayn's home was later posted on Twitter, showing the Wings singer posing with her man, his parents, siblings and cousins.
