As if this One Direction hiatus hasn't already been eventful enough, Simon Cowell has just made it all the more dramatic.

The Syco boss has confirmed that there are loads more non 1D ventures to come from Niall, Harry, Louis and Liam, something which we weren't quite ready for.

"Yeah, there will be more, I'm absolutely sure of that," he said when asked by E! if there are more solo projects to come.

He went on to add that the boys really do deserve this break, what with being the nicest humans on the planet and everything.

"Well, it was always going to come. You can't work at that level; the way they did. I mean lots of things are going to be announced over the next few months, but they were, are, the nicest people, you know, to work with.

"Hardworking, appreciate everything, so it won't be the end," he said.

WHAT THINGS?!

Anyway, he also had some nice words to say about Zayn and his recent efforts as a solo artist.

"We were involved with what label he went on, and he's still signed to our company, so, he's done fantastic, and he's showing that he's a great vocalist and very talented," he said.
