One Direction heartthrob Louis Tomlinson has caused a stir online after a Vine video has sparked speculationthat he might be gay.

The clip, which was filmed by a fan in Australia in the lobby of Tomlinson’s hotel, sees the Night Changes singer surrounded by his team, as the Directioner shouts: “Hey Louis.”

[related]According to The Mirror and various other publications, the 23-year old is said to have replied: “I’m gay, it’s pretty unfortunate for Eleanor”… yep as in Miss. Calder his GIRLFRIEND.

Now, here at MTV UK we’re pretty certain that Louis did NOT just come out in the lobby of his hotel… to fan.

Many Directioners have since suggested that he was actually responding to a girl who said they shared the same birthday as him.

One follower tweeted: “Someone had said they have the same birthday as Louis, and he said ‘it’s pretty unfortunate’…not anything else, stop making up s**t.”

She continued: “LOUIS DID NOT COME OUT, SOMEONE SAID THEIR BIRTHDAY WAS ON THE SAME DAY! Not gay, DAY!”

So, seeing as it was Valentine’s Day and he was on tour Down Under, maybe he was actually saying: “I’m away… it’s pretty unfortunate for Eleanor.”

Or perhaps: “I’m not Zay-n… it’s pretty unfortunate for Eleanor.”

How about: “I’m a bad lay… it’s pretty unfortunate for Eleanor.”

Ok, we’ll stop this now!, but you get the idea! Over to you Louis...
