Orlando Bloom has opened up about his split from estranged wife, Miranda Kerr.

After announcing their [uuid=5bf52338-8363-4e53-8b93-1f24d161cab2]separation in October[/uuid], Bloom was quizzed about the Aussie model by E! News at the LA premiere of his new movie, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, last night (December 2).

Speaking of Kerr, the 36-year old actor stated: "We're a family and we'll always love each other and we're going to be in each other's lives."

He went on to add that son Flynn is their main priority, claiming: "What [Flynn] reads and knows about when he's a grown up is more important to me than anything.

"We both love and cherish each other and then our boy so it's great."
