Oh jeez. Just when we were about to head off to bed in a calm, Hollywood manner, it's all kicked off at the Oscars 2017.

Tonight's Academy Awards have gone down in history, after Warren Beatty announced the WRONG winner for the final category of the evening - theprestigious Best Picture Award.

Just as predicted,Warren, who was presenting the award with Faye Dunaway, read out'La La Land 'as the movie which had scooped the coveted gong, and the entire cast and crew of the film hopped up on stage to collect the golden statue for the mantlepiece.

But just as the acceptance speeches were coming to an end, chaos quickly ensued on stage, and it was revealed that the wrong film had been announced as the winner of the prestigious award. It had in fact been awarded to 'Moonlight.'

"This was not a joke," Warren insisted to everyone after admitting the mistake.

"I wasn't trying to be funny," he added. He later explained that he'd actually been handed the wrong envelope, which had previously announced Best Actress Emma Stone for La La Land. "That's why I looked at Faye for a really long time."

So.Awkward. But YAY CONGRATULATIONS TO MOONLIGHT.

This tweet sums up the whole thing pretty well.
