Diddy in NEW Name Saga
The one-time Puff-meister will have to think of a new monicker AGAIN
The artist formerly known as Puffy, Puff Daddy, P Diddy and most recently just Diddy, is set to change his name again.
But this time its not a matter of choice.
The star (real name: Sean Combes) agreed to drop Diddy in the UK after London-based music producer Richard Diddy Dearlove threatened him with court action for pinching his name.
Solicitors Jens Hills & Co confirmed that TAFKAD had settled out of court and that Didz would no longer be able to trade in the UK as Diddy.
Little-known music producer Dearlove launched the lawsuit for 'unfair competition' saying Daddys swap to Diddy had caused mayhem with his work.
"I started getting e-mails from Puerto Rican girls asking if they could be in my video and people were asking me to look at their clothing line,'' he told The Guardian newspaper.
"It doesn't matter how big people become - this is my name. I've been successful too. I'm not a global megastar, but what I do is valid.''
Bets are on for Didz's new name - wonder if he'd like the one we've given him...
