Pale Present Their Pre-Gig Playlist
Alan shares the tunes he and Lee will be listening to ahead of their free gig at London's Shacklewell Arms...
Pale are a mysterious kind of duo. Known otherwise only as Alan and Lee, their self-released 'The Come Back EP' dropped in September and - produced by Adam Jaffrey - gave a taste of things to come from the brooding synth-poppers.
Playing tonight, Wednesday 8th October at London's Shacklewell Arms, check out Pale's own video for their track 'Come Back' before indulging yourself in their pre-gig playlist.
Written by Alan, though with some tunes stolen from Lee's DJ sets, we're sure it'll give you a better insight into the enigma that is Pale.
Eyedress – 'My Hologram'
"We’ve had the pleasure of working with Eyedress. He doesn’t give a f**k. He just does his own thing, totally confident in his own ability. His sound is so haunting and kind of catchy. It’s like the sound of a ghost train. This is a good track to get your blood going."
Boothroyd – 'Skinned'
"I don’t know what it is about this guy, but I’m obsessed. His EP will be playing before we go on stage next and we’ll walk out to this track."
Duran Duran - 'The Chauffeur'
"Nice one to dance to, I guess. I’m not crazy about dancing, but most people seem to like it."
Psychic TV – ‘Wicked’
"I've stolen the next few from one of Lee’s DJ sets..."
Chains - 'Gatekeeper'
Nitzer Ebb - 'Join In the Chant'
Death In June - 'The Calling (Mk II)'
Genesis P-Orridge - 'Thee Decaying Matter Ov Family L-Ov-e'
Утро - Сад
"Lee’s girlfriend is Russian and has excellent music taste; she often introduces to cool stuff we otherwise would never have heard."
Tropic Of Cancer - 'The One Left'
"I don’t know much about them, but this track is cool... Apparently it's written, recorded and produced by the same girl."
