Had to have high, high hopes for a living
Shooting for the stars when I couldn't make a killing
Didn't have a dime, but I always had a vision
Always had high, high hopes (high, high hopes)
Had to have high, high hopes for a living
Didn't know how, but I always had a feeling
I was gonna be that one in a million
Always had high, high hopes
Mama said, "Fulfill the prophecy"
"Be something greater, go make a legacy"
Manifest destiny back in the days
We wanted everything, wanted everything
Mama said, "Burn your biographies"
"Rewrite your history, light up your wildest dreams"
Museum victories everyday
We wanted everything, wanted everything
Mama said, "Don't give up
It's a little complicated"
"All tied up, no more love
And I'd hate to see you waiting"
Had to have high, high hopes for a living
Shooting for the stars when I couldn't make a killing
Didn't have a dime, but I always had a vision
Always had high, high hopes
Had to have high, high hopes for a living
Didn't know how, but I always had a feeling
I was gonna be that one in a million
Always had high, high hopes (high, high hopes)
Mama said, "It's uphill for oddities"
Stranger crusaders ain't ever wannabes
The weird and the novelties don't ever change
We wanted everything, wanted everything
Stay up on that rise, stay up on that rise
And never come down, oh-oh
Stay up on that rise, stay up on that rise
And never come down
Mama said, "Don't give up
It's a little complicated"
"All tied up, no more love
And I'd hate to see you waiting"
They say it's all been done, but they haven't seen the best of me, eh, eh, eh
So I got one more run, and it's gonna be a sight to see, eh, eh, eh
Had to have high, high hopes for a living
Shooting for the stars when I couldn't make a killing
Didn't have a dime, but I always had a vision
Always had high, high hopes (high, high hopes)
Had to have high, high hopes for a living
Didn't know how, but I always had a feeling
I was gonna be that one in a million
Always had high, high hopes (high, high hopes)
Had to have high, high hopes for a living
Shooting for the stars when I couldn't make a killing
Didn't have a dime, but I always had a vision
Always had high, high hopes
Had to have high, high hopes for a living
Didn't know how, but I always had a feeling
I was gonna be that one in a million
Always had high, high hopes (high, high hopes)
Brendon stands in for Hugh Jackman as the circus leader as part of the star-studded covers album The Greatest Showman Reimagined, which is due out November 16.
"I heard it and I was like, ‘This sounds like a Panic! song. You guys did a Panic! song better than I’ve ever done a Panic! song'," the frontman said about being approached for the new collection, before revealing it almost didn't see the light of day.
"'[I said] I would love to...I tried it, and then for whatever reason — labels, management, I’m not sure why — I got cut out of the process and it seemed like it wasn’t going to happen. But finally I hooked back up with them and we got a demo version recorded and they mixed it and are putting it out. It’s awesome."
The Reimagined album also features P!nk's version of 'A Million Dreams', Years & Years, Anne-Marie, Kesha, Kelly Clarkson, Jess Glynne and more.

Hugh Jackman recently hinted that the blockbuster musical may be heading to theatre also, teasing it could potentially be based in the UK also, while it is early days.
"All I know is when we were in the room during those workshops, you get a really keen sense if it's going to work in a theatre, he said. "And I know it will work. I just know the power. I've seen Keala standing in the centre of a room singing This Is Me, and there was not a dry eye in the house."
And now we wait!
