Paris Hilton Pleads Guilty To Cocaine Charge
The heiress will now avoid prison for admitting the Class A drug was hers...
Paris Hiltonhas pleaded guilty to drug possession charges and obstructing an officer following her arrest from having cocaine in her handbag.
As we previously reported, Paris was stopped in Las Vegas in August for having the white substance in her possession and was promptly arrested along with her boyfriend Cy Waits.
Despite strongly denying the Class A drug was hers, even going as far as saying that the bag it was found in was borrowed from a friend and that she was 'set up', the heiress has since confessed to the two charges today.
According to TMZ.com, Paris will now avoid a prison sentence for admitting to the misdemeanours but in exchange she must pay a $2,000 fine and complete 200 hours of community service as well as attending an intensive substance abuse programme.
Hilton also received one years probation with the judge telling her that she has also been given a years suspended sentence - meaning that if the socialite is arrested for anything but a minor driving offence she will go to jail for a year.
The judge enforced this to Paris, adding: "The Clark County Detention Center is not the Waldorf Astoria."
