Paris Hilton has taken to Twitter to declare her innocence after being busted by police with cocaine in her handbag.
The heiress, who was charged with the possession of the Class-A drug earlier this week, has strongly denied that the substance was hers, even suggesting that she was 'set-up.'
However, it seems to have got all too much for Paris as the socialite tweeted yesterday morning: "These rumors going around are so ridiculous, untrue and cruel..."
She added: "I'm not going to even pay attention to them, because I know the truth."
Although Paris did not directly reference 'the rumours' it is thought she was referring to her boyfriend Cy Waits losing his nightclub job as a result of the cocaine charge. He was driving the car when Paris was stopped with the drugs in her bag.
A spokesperson for the Wynn Resorts Limited has also confirmed to Associated Press that Hilton has been banned from both the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas as well as the Encore Resorts.
Meanwhile, Hilton's attorney has claimed that he believes Paris was 'illegally searched' for the drug after claiming that the handbag it was found in wasn't hers.
A source close to Paris has since told RadarOnline.com: "Cops discovered the cocaine inside the security offices where Paris was taken,"
"Because Paris was taken away from the scene where the car was pulled over, this could potentially be an illegal search of a person..."

They added: "Las Vegas Metro didn't follow standard procedures when Paris was arrested, and her lawyer will be talking to the D.A. about this."
