Macca Blasted Into Space
Sir Paul McCartney will play the first ever live gig broadcast into space on Saturday.
As part of his US tour the former Beatle will give the international space station crew " orbiting 220 miles above earth " a wake up call featuring his new track English Tea and Beatles classic Good Day Sunshine.
The satellite link-up will come from Sir Pauls gig at Californias Arrowhead Pond, and at the other end of the call will be NASA Astronaut Bill McCarthur and Russian Cosmonaut Valery Tokarev.
In August, when the Space Shuttle Discovery was returning to earth, the crew were told the news that they had good landing weather with Good Day Sunshine playing in the background - courtesy of Mission Control.
"I was extremely proud to find out that one of my songs was played for the crew of Discovery this summer," said Sir Paul. "In our concert we hope to repay the favour."
