Macca’s Welsh Jibe

Beatle Paul sits down with Kaiser Chiefs to discuss his favourite new bands and Wales

Sir Paul McCartney has joked Wales is a Third World Country during an interview with Kaiser Chiefs.

The Beatles songwriter chatted to the Leeds group telling them he doesnt get recognised in places like India. Kaiser Ricky Wilson says the same thing happens to him in Wales.

Macca then replies: Well Wales is a Third World country, isnt it? He then adds: We love Welsh people by the way.

In the interview in 'NME' Paul talks about his love for Kaiser Chiefs and other modern bands: Snow Patrol are good. Guillemots. I like Franz Ferdinand. I like to see people with direction and a clear idea of what theyre doing.

When asked what advice he has for new bands McCartney simply says: Have fun, be wonderful, be confident. What a legend!
