Dwayne Johnson Pays Tribute to Friend Paul Walker
The Rock co-starred with Paul in Fast & Furious franchise...
Paul Walker, calling him “a great father”.
“He was motivated by work that allowed him to take care of his family, number one, and that also allowed him the power and the leverage to help people in need and in crisis,” Johnson told Entertainment Weekly.
The two first met in their early 20s before going on to co-star in Fast Five and Fast & Furious 6. “The most important thing that we had in common was the importance of family time and being a great father to our daughters,” Dwayne explained. “We bonded over that.”
Paul tragically died in a car crash over Thanksgiving weekend together with friend Roger Rodas. He was on a break from filming Fast & Furious 7 when the crash happened. “Paul was very welcoming, and a very calming presence on set,” Johnson remembered.
“We would talk about silly guy things, his fast cars and my pickup trucks, or we would talk about the beautiful energy of Hawaii - but it always ultimately came back to family.”
