Weller's Monster Gibson
Paul Weller's raising money with some of the biggest guitars you're ever gonna see...
Paul Weller has officially launched Gibson GuitarTown London, a community inspired music and arts campaign that will raise money for charity.
The campaign follows the creation of a series of ten-foot high free standing Gibson Guitars, each endorsed by a British guitar legend such as Weller or Queens Brian May, which are then hand painted by a London based visual artist.
The guitars will be displayed in the shadow of Tower Bridge and around the Mayor of Londons office from June 1st 2007, for twelve weeks. Following the display the monster Gibsons will be auctioned off to raise money for The Princes Trust, Teenage Cancer Trusts, and Nordoff-Robbins " an organisation that offers music therapy to children and adults.
"I am proud to be associated with the Gibson GuitarTown London, said Weller. It combines my passion and appreciation for the guitar, whilst raising money and awareness for three very worthy and deserving charities."
